Oil on canvas. The overall size being 136 cm x 162 cm high ( 53 x 63 inches approx.)
whilst the painting is 100 cm by 125.5 cm high (39.5 x 49 inches high approx.) depth 12 cm (approx. 4.5 inches)
Housed in a gilt frame this is a very large and imposing painting . It is worth mentioning this is also quite a heavy painting
, having come from a country estate.
The painting is in overall very good condition ready to hang having had some restoration
it has been cleaned and relined with some retouching and strengthening.
The frame, which is almost certainly the original
is in good condition.
An old restoration label is present to the rear of the painting which states address as " Brantinghamthorpe"
and a name Maxsted. The "Maxsted's" were once the owners of Brantinghamthorpe hall.
